News Flash: Beyonce Goes Blonde

Superstar Beyonce goes blonde!
The singer has
swapped her BRonde locks for Malibu Blonde and revealed her new look at the Grammies earlier this month.
We loved Beyonce's BRonde look, but her new sandy blonde shade is
gorgeous and works really well for her!
It’s a thumbs up from us!!

Award Ceremony Hair - February Red Carpet Watch
There’s been
lots of award ceremony hair to look out for this February. We’re in our element
with all the red carpet events as it’s given us loads of great hair to talk
about at HeadKandy HQ ... here are our
picks of the top styles and tips on how to re-create them with your own clip in
hair extensions.
The 2011
Grammy Awards – February 13th 2011
Katy Perry
was wearing a gorgeous dress for the award ceremony and we just LOVED her
glitzy purple and green eye make-up!!
She had
gorgeous soft curls in her hair which complimented her whole look really well.
If you have
dark hair like Katy, then a 16-18” or 20-22” full head in Soho would be perfect
for re-creating her look yourself. Use a jumbo curling iron to achieve those
big romantic curls!

Similarly,
Selena Gomez wore long soft curls for the Grammies – this style is huge this
year so the girls are band on trend! 20-22” extensions in Espresso would be the
closest match for Selena or to re-create the subtle highlights, Iced Coffee
would be fab!! Add some curls with a 24mm curling tong and gently brush them
through to loosen them slightly.
We love Miley
Cyrus’ BRonde look from the red carpet! Get Miley’s uber length with a 24-26”
full head and add some loose curls with your flat irons. Pin back a section of
the hair from each side and secure with a cute clip!
The 2011
BAFTA Awards – February 13th 2011
Actress Amy
Adams wore a beautiful beaded dress for the BAFTA awards and her hair carried
natural curls. If you’re a red head like Amy then shades St Tropez or Spiced
Auburn could work well for you!
Re-create
Amy’s gorgeous curls with a 24mm curling tong and brush the curls through to
soften them. Use a hairspray safe for use with hair extensions to hold the
style in place!

Bonnie Wright
went super straight with her gorgeous red hair for the BAFTA’s. A 16-18” full
head would be best for Bonnie’s look. Apply a good quality heat protection
treatment to your own hair and your hair extensions and then use your flat
irons for a straight and sleek look. Take sections of hair from above the ears
and pin them back to create a half-up half-down look!
The 2011
BRIT Awards – February 15th 2011
Cheryl Cole
looked stunning for the red carpet in a sexy backless black sequined dress with
a thigh-high split. We loved her smokey cat’s eyes and her updo with a fashion
ponytail ... FAB!!

To get this
unique ‘do part your hair all the way around leaving a 2 inch perimeter below
the parted hair line.
Pull the hair
above the hairline upwards, angled backwards, and apply hairspray. Backcomb the
hair for volume before adding more hairspray to form a nest.
Use your
remaining natural hair and brush it back over the nest of hair you have created
and secure it underneath with a bobble so you have a short ponytail left at the
back of the head.
Select 2 or 3
hair extension wefts (depending on how much hair you want for your fashion
pony!) and clip these onto your natural ponytail, wrapping them around 2 or 3
times.
Paloma Faith also
caught our attention with her oversized fashion hair-bow and her long red
locks! To create a curl at the ends of your 20-22” extensions, use heated
rollers on just the ends of the extensions, but be sure not to leave them on
for too long. This should give you a gorgeous kink like Paloma!
Select an
oversized hair accessory to really set this style off!

And the
winner is...
There was
some gorgeous hair for the award ceremonies this month, but we think Cheryl
Cole really stole the limelight with her unique up-do! She stood out from the
crowd of lose curls and really made a statement with a hairstyle that was a
little bit different!!

Miley Cyrus Hair Extensions - New BRonde Shade!
Miley Cyrus rocked BRonde hair extensions at the Grammy awards
and we loved it!! You can get the look yourself with HeadKandy hair extensions!
Teen Queen Miley Cyrus arrived at the Grammys with her brand
new BRonde look! She looked as perfect as always, wearing a floor length metallic
sparkly leopard print Cavali dress which was simply stunning! Her gorgeously long
locks were styled in loose waves with sections of hair pinned back from her face
in a half up half down ‘do. Her fab new hair extensions had a subtle ombre look, but definitely
falls into the BRonde category! And this is a super easy way to achieve the BRonde
look without having to change all your hair!
If your base shade is similar to Miley’s you can achieve
this look with Butterscotch Highlights J
Go for a quad weft and a few single strips positioned in the underneath layers
of your hair! This is guaranteed to look great worn wavy like Miley or poker
straight!

Valentines Hair Extensions
It doesn't matter whether you’re loved up or a single lady, we have the
perfect hair styles for you this Valentine’s Day with HeadKandy hair
extensions.
Loved Up
If your partner is treating you to a romantic meal this Valentine’s or
you’ve got a hot date with that special someone then you will want to look your
best! We have a selection of hair do’s that are sure to WOW your other half!
Half Up, Half
Down:
This style looks great whether worn curly or straight, long or short.
For real drama, a full head in 20-22” or 24-26” is just perfect! Fit
your full head of extensions and then take pieces of hair from each side, just
above your ears, and pin them at the back of your head with a cute clip.
To make this a bit different, why not twist or plait the sections of
hair you clip back to add some gorgeous texture!

Chignon:
The Chignon is a beautiful option for whatever you might have planned.
Once your extensions are in place, gather your hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck
(but don’t make it too tight) and split your ponytail into two parts. Twist
both parts of the ponytail tightly into a spiral. Starting at the base of the
ponytail, carefully twist it into a bun. Secure your Chignon with hairpins and
apply a good quality hair spray or smoothing cream.

Curly Faux Bob:
A shorter full head of extensions works best to achieve this do! A
12-14” full head set would be ideal.
Part
your hair slightly to one side and fit your extensions, adding lots of volume
at the roots by teasing your hair! Use a good quality heat protection treatment
before adding some gorgeous curls using a 38mm jumbo curling iron (or for
tighter curls you could use a 24mm curling iron).
Tie your own hair and your extensions together loosely at the back of your hair
in a very low ponytail. The elastic should be about 4 inches from the end of
your hair. Twist the hair upwards until you reach your desired length for your
faux bob, tuck it underneath and secure with bobby pins.
Pull some loose curls to the sides of your face to soften the look! Don’t
forget a good quality hairspray to hold the style!
Single Ladies
And we don’t want the single ladies missing out on all the fun, so if
you’re hitting the town with the girls then these hair style’s will ensure
you’re dressed to impress!
Long waves:
Long hair is huge this year and some soft, effortless waves would look great
for a night on the town! A 16-18” or a 20-22” full head would be ideal for
adding gorgeous waves, or for ‘uber’ length, why not try a 24-26” full head?
Fit your extensions and then add some big, loose curls using a 38mm
curling iron or rollers! Gently brush the style through to loosen the curls
slightly and create a more carefree look!
You could always add some braids/plaits for texture and interest!
Super Quiff:
For this statement look, a 20-22” full head set would work best.
Section hair on both sides - from your temple to the corner of your
crown and then from your crown to the top of your ear. Clip in the hair extensions from the
nape of your neck up to the crown. (Normally the clip ins would be fitted
around the whole head, but for this style fit them all in the back from ear to
ear). Then move the hair at the crown forward and out of the way!
Take
the hair from where you sectioned it earlier and tie it back into a pony tail
just above the area where your extensions are, this will keep the side areas
sleek and is a great cheat for giving height!!
Backcomb
the top of your hair closest to the ponytail to make a secure base. Now
you need to start to form your quaff; work from the crown forward and use some
hairspray for control. Section by section, shape the hair back and over
the pony tail.
Super straight:
For a quick and easy (but no less sexy) look, you could wear your
extensions super sleek and straight! This works well for any length, but we
think 16-18” and 20-22” full heads look fab!!
Remember to use a good quality heat protection treatment before you use
your flat irons to straighten out your extensions and your own hair.
You could add a glitzy headband for some gorgeous glamour and sparkle!

Hair Predictions For 2011
It's the start of a brand new year and that means we have loads of gorgeous
hair styles and trends to look forward to! Here are our HeadKandy hair
predictions for 2011:
The Ponytail
A ponytail is a flexible style that works all year round, but is the ultimate
summer staple! It’s going to be a popular choice for Spring/Summer of 2011
where it has been seen on multiple runways. Whether left straight or wavy, tied
high, low, to the side or centred, this simple style exudes youth and fun - but
the addition of some pins can turn a ponytail into a sleek, glamorous updo!
This completely fuss-free look is chic and feminine and by pinning in some
flowers or using cute bobbles the look can be changed again!
HeadKandy extensions are perfect for this look; adding volume, but most
importantly length - another must have for this year’s hair!!

Long Hair
Long hair is definitely the look for 2011! For all girls with shorter hair,
extensions are going to be your best friend this year - the longer the better!
All the designer shows for the Spring/Summer '11 were showcasing models with
flowing locks. The styles have been mainly wavy and naturally kinky, making
this the ideal summer style! Avoid spending hours managing your hair - simply
towel dry, add a little product and enjoy the sun.
Long hair is great for the hotter months as there are so many styles and ways
of wearing it, whether it’s the classic ponytail, a plait/braid (these will
also be huge this year!) or bun - these always look effortlessly feminine and
summery. A full head set of extensions
will add glamorous length, volume and thickness to your summer hair and will
give you plenty to play around with and style!!

Mid Length
Waves look great on any hair length; they are going to be the style to be seen
wearing for 2011. This year’s waves are big and brushed out. Almost vintage in
their styling, they can look very soft and romantic or they can be made to look
very glamorous. This look works perfectly with shoulder length hair as the
curls sit on your shoulders and create loads of volume; using a quad weft or a
full head set for extra thickness and oomph will give you a fabulous 50’s do!
Teaming this look with a vibrant colour such as Rihanna’s creates a modern
twist on this classic style!

Heavy Fringe
The heavy fringe/bang is the perfect accompaniment to all the above styles!
Choose between a heavy, blunt, in your
eyes look or opt for a deep cut, side sweeping fringe/bang - whichever best
suits your face shape.
A fringe is a bold statement and adds structure to your hairstyle! It looks
great with shorter or longer hair and can really freshen up your look.

New Year's Eve Hair Extensions - Laid Back Glam
To achieve Lauren's laid back glam look, first apply a heat
protection product to your hair and extensions. Loose curl your hair and
extensions by using either Velcro rollers or large barrelled tongs to create
large loose waves. If you find your hair is curlier than you want simply put a
very small amount of serum on the tips of your fingers and pull through the
curls - this will loosen the curl but the serum will stop them going fluffy :D
Working from your natural parting, section your hair above
your ears. Angle upwards so the section is almost triangular and pointing
towards the crown, leave all the back section of your hair loose.
Using grips, pin the top triangle section on both sides.
This is a low maintenance look that's girly glam and the added volume from your
extensions will leave others envious :)
For an extra glamorous look, try adding a bling clip or jewel
to the pinned section. To make it a more
daytime look braid the section before pinning :)

New Year's Eve Hair Extensions- The Chignon
The chignon is a timeless classic updo! It can be made uber glamorous being
pulled back and sleek or can be left a little more ‘messy glam’ by creating
tousled hair with some loose curls!
To achieve this look I would recommend using 16-18" or
20-22" length extensions to keep the bun a manageable size! First decide
if you’re going straight or curly, after using a heat protection product and
following the Headkandy care guide, curl or straighten your own hair and
extensions. After fitting your extensions pull all your hair into a loose pony,
either at the nape of your neck or to the side - about 2 inches behind your
ear! I find using a thin hair elastic helps secure the whole chignon when you
have finished and it is very easy to hide.
Start
by splitting your pony into 2 sections and simply wrap them around each other!
Twist one to the right and the other the left, secure each twist with hair
grips and hairspray or smoothing serum! To achieve the tousled look simply
leave your hair loose framing your face, then when you have wrapped your hair
pull out a few ends to leave some flowing curls! Or cheat by using your single
wefts and have some longer flowing curls :)

Hair Extensions at Christmas
HeadKandy Hair Extensions will add the perfect touch of style to your look
this festive season as you meet and great with all your friends and family and
we’ve got some hot looks you can play around with!
Christmas Day
With all the excitement of opening your presents on Christmas morning there
may not be much time to get ready before the family arrive so you want a hair
style that’s simple, but gorgeous.
We love the way Kelly Osbourne has been wearing her hair in a retro ponytail lately
and this would be a perfect look for Christmas day!!
Fit your full head of extensions and
then take random large sections of your hair and extensions in together and
curl them from the middle to end using a jumbo curling iron. Gather your hair
and extensions into a ponytail and secure it with an elastic. Next you need to
create you pompadour. To do this create a quiff that is detached from your hair
rather than blended , twist it and pin it at the back.
This hairstyle looks great with a pretty bow to hide the elastic and give it
that 50’s chic!
If you prefer to wear your hair down then fit your extensions and then add some
loose, natural looking curls with your tongs and gently run your fingers
through them. Use a good quality hair spray safe for use with extensions to
keep your curls in place well into the night as the mulled wine flows!

Boxing Day
Whether you’re partying hard or doing the rounds visiting family on Boxing
Day, you can create the perfect look with your HeadKandy extensions.
For an easy day look, why not fit your extensions and pull all your hair around
into a side ponytail. Wrap a small section of your hair around the elastic for
a more stylish do! This style looks fab with ‘uber’ long extensions... 20-22”
or 24-26” will really make a statement!
If you’ve got a party or you’re hitting the town in the evening then why not
wow everyone with Old Hollywood hair?
Fit your extensions, but leave out the top few wefts. Create a low side parting
and set your hair and your extensions in rollers (Velcro or hot should work
best ... don’t forget to curl the wefts you haven’t fitted yet).
Fit the rest of your extensions and then brush all the hair back away from your
face. Use a soft brush to brush out the curls slightly. Tuck the smaller side
of the parting behind your ear slightly so it sits flatter to the head.
This look would look gorgeous with a fitted dress and some stylish jewellery
and it will definitely turn some heads however you decide to celebrate on
Boxing day!!
So there you have it, some gorgeous looks for the party season that are
guaranteed to make you shine!
Have a very merry Christmas from everyone at HeadKandy and show off your
extensions in style!!
