French Twist Low Ponytail Hair Tutorial

We
are huge fans of fuss free hairstyles and this season there are loads
of gorgeous styles that will literally take you minutes to do! The
ponytail made a comeback as a hairstyle trend, and not just how you wore
your hair between washes, last summer but this French Twist Low
Ponytail is such a cute and perfect summer version of a super easy hair
style! Step One Start
by pulling all your hair back and holding where you want the ponytail
to start. For thsi style you better off going for a mid height or high
pony. Step Two Now you want to simply twist your hair. You want to do this quite tightly at this stage as it will loosen a little later. Step 3 Now
still holding the end of your pony with one hand you want to use the
other hand to lie your ponytail to your head. No to make this like a
french twist you need to smooth this into your head...the best method I
have found is to use the palm of your hand! Place your hand slightly to
the side of your rolled hair and pull the side hair over your roll of
hair. You will have needed your hair to have loosened a little when
positioning it for this to work best. You can do this straight or angle
to the side...whatever your fancying on the day. Step Four Now you have your french twist in place you need to pin the rolled hair to your head. Finish with a stritz of hairspray :)

See
how easy this style is!...and a side twisted version has even been worn on the red carpet by
Jennifer Lawrence! This is the perfect summer hairstyle. Will you be trying this out? We’d love to know what you think of the style?

Celebrity Hairstyles at the TV Baftas 2013
There
were some stunning celebrity hairstyles at this years TV Bafta Awards
which took place over the weekend. We couldn’t help but pick out our
favs!

New
Dr Who girl, Jenna Louise Coleman, looked beautiful in a floor length
nude gown. Her makeup was given a vintage twist with huge cats eye
flicks with eyeliner and her hair was kept simple. The lengths of her
hair were given subtle waves and the front sections pulled back from her
face...simple but she looked gorgeous.

Another
star going for a simple but effective hairstyle was Sienna Miller.
Sienna’s hair was twisted into a simple top knot but as she wore quite a
high necked and very patterned dress the simplicity of the hairstyle
was the perfect contrast! Holly
Willoughby made a change from her normal red carpet down do’s to rock a
loose up do. Holly’s hair was pinned up leaving quite big sections of
hair, that had been curled through the lengths, loose to really frame
her face. The style looked really cute but we much prefer Holly’s hair
worn down and voluminous!

And
the surprise of the night was the Made in Chelsea girls! We all know
that they scrub up well but we are loving Bunky’s uber long locks that
looked glossy and perfectly styled. Louises ombre tresses were swept to
one side from a really deep parting. Millie went for a simple look...her
hair was super straight and she pinned back the top section of hair,
keeping her centre parting for a very sleek style. Lucy chose to stand
out from the rest of the girls by choosing a curly updo very similar to
Holly Willoughby! Who rocked your favourite look of the night? Were there any styles you’ll be trying out?

Rihanna’s Hair Changes Again!
We
just can’t keep up with Rihanna’s hair at the moment! We were loving
the stars long ombre locks so we were in shock to see RiRi out for the
night in New York with a super blonde bob!

We knew that there was an ulterior motive with this look and we were pretty sure that this was a wig! And right we were! Rihanna
herself added a pic to her instagram feed just a few hours later saying
‘I woke up in a new....weave!’. The pic showed Rihannas hair style into
voluminous waves and covering her face...the shade is a much lighter
shade than her ombre locks. After this debut of the shade Rihanna, who
is on her Diamonds world tour was seen out with a friend and the shade
of her hair was properly revealed.

As much as we like Rihanna with dark locks we have to admit that the honey toned shade looks stunning on her skin tone : ) Do you prefer RiRi with dark or blonde locks?

Little Mix's Perrie Edwards Hair

Little
Mix may not have been around very long but already Perrie Edward’s hair
has been through a rainbow of shades! Starting off as as sandy toned
blonde, the star has gone grey, lilac and pink as the trends for vibrant
and pastel shades have become more and more popular! Pastel shades were a huge trend prediction for 2013 so Perrie Edward' hair is helping to keep the Little Mix girls style bang on trend!
We
are huge fans of the pastel and candy shades for hair...although these
can be high maintenance and require lots of TLC they look amazing! We’re
almost positive that Perrie has some help with clip in hair extensions
as the amount of bleach she would need would leave her locks quite
damaged and it always looks thick and healthy! Are you a fan of the candy colour locks? What shade would you like to see Perrie choose next?

Carly Rae Jepson's New Red Hair!
Wow!
Carly Rae Jepson has tweeted a pic of herself with, wait for it...bright red locks! We were shocked to see the stars trademark straight black
locks have gone! The star who was known for her blunt fringe and black
hair have replaced these for a much softer waved hairstyle with the top
section pinned back. We are loving the look Carly! ♥

French Twist Hair Tutorial

The
French Pleat or Twist as its now more commonly know is a traditional
updo that really has stood the test of time. This is a classic updo that
can be dressed up or down, given a modern twist by adding a quiff or
bouffant and it always looks stunning. This is still a celeb favourite
and can often be seen on catwalks and at red carpet events. We love this
style because its so easy to create and adding in your clip in hair
extensions will really bulk the style out and give it a fabulous shape.

Step One Pull
all your hair to one side. Running from the nape of your neck upwards
create a criss cross pattern with bobby pins. This should hold the one
side of your hair flat to your head and this will be the base for your
twist! Step Two Gently
hold all your hair and brush this through to smooth out the hair. You
now want to start creating your roll. It can be handy if you have some
sectioning clips to put these on the ends of your hair to keep the,
together. You can use your hand to wrap this around but be sure to pull
the ends upwards through the roll! Step Three Keep
rolling your hair until this is flat against your head and covering the
row of bobby pins you secured your hair with earlier. Use bobby pins to
secure the rolled hair to your head...you may need quite a lot of these
if you have a lot of hair or you have used your extensions. Step Four If
you have used clips on the ends of your hair you should be able to
remove these easily now. For the classic look you want to shape the ends
of your hair to give it a round cone like shape. If you are going for a
more modern look you can leave the ends tucked away.
 And
now you have your french twist complete! What do you think of the
style? Is it one of your go to styles for formal events? We’d love to
know what you think of it :)

Whitney Port's Hair Venus Promos
There
are very few products that celebrities are yet to put their name to but
we have a new addition! Whitney Port has been announced as the new
face...or should that be legs, for razor brand Venus but how stunning
does her hair look in these sneak preview promo shots.

The
first promo shows Whitney Port’s hair with very subtle beach waves...a
style that is a go to look for the LA born star. Her uber long, sun
kissed blonde locks are styled with a centre parting which creates
gorgeous face framing sections.

The
next promo shot is a very different feel to the first. In an evening
scenario Whitney Ports hair has been styled into gorgeous vintage
inspired waves. Her hair has been given a deep side parting and given
lots of volume at the roots. This creates such a beautiful shape to the
hair that it makes her look every inch a Hollywood star! Are you loving Whitney's locks? What do you think of celebrities working with product brands?

Red Carpet Hairstyles at the Met Ball 2013
So
the Met Ball 2013 took place a couple of nights ago and this year's theme was
Punk: Chaos to Couture...with many stars looking unrecognisable we were
super impressed by the red carpet hairstyles and outfits! There
were of course a few that didn’t quite get the look right but overall
the theme worked really well and the celebs who got it spot on looked
amazing! Here’s our rundown of favourite looks from the red carpet!

Zooey
Deschanel didn’t run with the punk theme by choosing a candy coloured
floor length gown and side chignon hairstyle but what shocked us was how
different she looked! Zooey pulled her trademark heavy bang over to the
side, a look that we have never seen the star wear before...we never
knew that a fringe could change the way someone looks so dramatically
before!

Another
celeb that looked unrecognisable was January Jones. Rocking a sequinned
mini dress she accessorised with uber eyeliner which was adorned with
sparkles. Her red carpet hairstyle was something you would expect to
see on medusa....an array of tightly pulled dutch braids swirling around
her head, finished off with a quiffed fringe!
We
were shocked to see Nicole Richie with such a stand out red carpet
style. Her newly dyed locks appeared to be spray painted with a silver
shade...teamed with a high neck white gown the star looked more like she
was on the way to a halloween party than a punk but the style certainly
stood out!

Kelly
Osbourne also looked stunning at the Ball. Wearing her hair in a huge
high bun...we’re pretty sure she had help from some hair extensions looking at the size of the bun! She crimped her hair before puttin this up and added a sparkly hair
accessory. To finish off her look Kelly added stunning gold and green
eye makeup with a dramatic cats eye flick.

And
how can we leave out the gorgeous Anne Hathaway. Dying her dark locks
bleach blonde and teaming this with a barely there dress, she looked
stunning. Blonde really suits the brunette actress! Who do you think dressed to the theme best? Who’s look did you like best?

The Hair Ribbon Trend
The
spring and summer are THE seasons for tons of super cute and girly
hairstyles to become super hot trends. None are going to be more
popular this year than the Hair Ribbon Trend! Now, we know what you're
thinking, hair ribbons take us back to our childhood too but there are
so many ways to rock this trend that everyone can pull this one off!

The
Hair Ribbon Trend started on the catwalks back in Winter 2011 and
slowly we have seen the look start to make its way to the Red Carpets,
with celebs such as Zooey Deschanel, Kelly Osbourne and Bella Thorne
wearing ribbons. We’re sure this is a trend that will be all over the
high st very soon!

We
are loving how versatile you can be with your ribbon too! Why not try
adding this around the base of a bun...tying off a pretty plait...or use
to tie back the front section of your hair for a half up do! Our
tip...avoid the high st and pop into your local haberdashery and you can pick from a huge
array of shades and patterned ribbons, what's even better is they are
super cheap so you can really stock up!
Will you be wearing a ribbon in your hair this spring/summer?
