Red Carpet Hairstyles for the Emmy Awards
There
certainly was a dominating look to the red carpet hairstyles for the
Emmy Awards this year … the elegant updo is back. We've become
accustomed to seeing hair being worn down at red carpet events so it was
a pleasant surprise to see so many fabulous updos!Girl
of the moment, Zoe Deschanel, chose a stunning vintage inspired red
carpet hairstyle that worked perfectly with her Reem Acra lilac, floor
length gown. Her hair was pulled back and given lots of lift at the
root, this was pinned in the centre of the head; the lengths of her hair
were then rolled at the nape of the neck and pinned up. Such a cute
look that was made famous by the Hollywood greats of the 1950s. Mad
Men actress, Jessica Pare, also took inspiration from the 1950's; her
makeup and red carpet hairstyle looked very Grace Kelly. She wore a
stunning retro updo with beautiful dark glossy locks and a beautiful
white, Grecian Jason Wu gown … her styling ensured she looked every inch
a vinatge vixen. We have to say … we are LOVING these vintage inspired
red carpet hairstyles for the Emmy Awards, ladies. Kudos!Another
updo that had taken inspiration from vintage styles was worn by
Julianne Hough. Wearing a stunning sea foam Georges Hobeika Couture
gown, Julianne added 1920's finger waves to a faux bob. The style looks
simply stunning with her newly blonde shade, especially as we are used
to seeing Julianne with dark, long locks left down. The faux bob is a
great way of trying out a shorter style without the commitment of having
your hair cut off and its so easy to do. Try this look out with our
easy faux bob hair tutorial.Hayden
Panettiere looked lovely in a gold-embroidered Marchesa gown with a
blue tulle overlay. With such a detailed dress, Hayden's messy high bun
worked perfectly as this drew all the attention to stunning back detail
of the dress.We
are loving the mass return of the updo and with many more red carpet
events fast approaching, we can’t wait to see more updos springing up on
the celebs. Which of the red carpet hairstyles for the Emmy Awards was
your fave? Are you backing the updo too? Who do you think always look
perfect with an updo? Let us know below or comment on our Facebook page.

Nicki Minaj's Hair
She
is known for being a colour chameleon and having the most outrageous
hairstyles so we were a little surprised to see Nicki Minaj’s hair
looking a little less dramatic at the launch of her new fragrance. Last
week, Nicki Minaj’s hair was an array of bright neon shades for her
first appearance as a judge on American Idol. Kept into a bob filled
with bouncy curls, her hair screamed out for attention, and it attracted
just that!However,
for her fragrance launch, she opted for a more demure look. We’re
guessing that some hair extensions were added to Nicki Minaj’s hair to
give her that added length and give her a completely different look to
what she was seen with the previous week. We do much prefer Miss Minaj
with her longer locks we must admit!Nicki
Minaj’s hair was also just ONE shade for a change, a lovely light
blonde! We think this is a nice change from her usual show stopping mix
of shades, although we do love seeing what she comes up with next, we
haven’t seen her hair so ‘normal’ for quite a while. Nicki Minaj kept
her hair sleek and straight for her appearance and we love how glossy
and healthy her hair looked. ♥Although
Nicki Minaj’s hair was kept relatively low-key, her outfit was not.
Dressed in a multi coloured floral crop top, a bright pink suited
jacket, and blue and white leggings, the star didn’t hold back on
attracting attention at her fragrance launch. Blue wedges and a pink
police helmet completed her look for the appearance. We’re pretty sure
only Nicki Minaj could get away with this look on a daily basis though. We’re
pretty impressed by her perfume bottle too; it has a pink wig!! Wowsa!
Mirrored on Nicki Minaj’s famous pink ‘do, we think it’s one of a kind
for sure. Just like her!So
what do you guys think of Nicki Minaj’s hair for her fragrance launch??

London Fashion Week Hairstyles
We were loving some of the London Fashion Week hairstyles last week and we’ve picked a few of our faves to share with you.
First
of all, we have to say that we just LOVED Pixie Lott’s hair at LFW. Her
shoulder length blonde locks were styled with a deep side-parting and
gorgeous waves and flicks. It looked super, SUPER cute. We were also
loving her sheer, knitted mini dress and her cats ears.
Another
of the London Fashion Week hairstyles that caught our eye was worn by
Nicola Roberts; the Girls Aloud star debuted her new pink dip-dyed look
which had replaced her blonde locks seen earlier at LFW. We do love to
see a star playing around with the shade of their hair and we’re fans of
the dip-dye hair trend, but we’re not sure we like this look on Nicola
Roberts … it certainly makes a statement though!Moving
on to the runway for our London Fashion Week hairstyles, we noticed
that Mulberry were favouring a deep side parting and a sweeping fringe
for the SS13 show. We love this style, especially when worn with added
root lift, as it has a real 60’s vibe. This style worked just perfectly
with the runway collection. The London Fashion Week hairstyles for Jena.Theo SS13 were dominated by
centre partings and poker straight locks. These looks were super sleek
and gorgeously glossy which just screams catwalk. Use your straightening
irons for the super straight look and finish with Tigi After Party to
control any fly-aways. Many of the models
wore their hair without a fringe, but we were loving the blunt-cut, bold
fringe that some of the Jena.Theo models wore for the runway. Just
perfect. Which
of the London Fashion Week hairstyles caught your eye the most? Do you
agree with our choices or do you have some suggestions of your own? Tell
us below or on Facebook … we’d love to hear from you.

Glee Hairstyles
There
were some stunning Glee hairstyles as the stars of the hit show
attended the premiere of Season 4 last week. This was a huge night for
the returning and new cast members to make an impression on the enormous
number of Glee fans all over the world.Lea
Michele looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet, choosing a floor
length, black, Versace cutaway gown. The cutaway lace panel pulled in
her waist and this continued around making a gorgeous backless
statement. Her straight across, blunt bang had returned for the
premiere; as it's a Rachel Berry trademark we wouldn’t expect to see her
without this! The naturally dark shade of Lea Michele's hair had been
replaced by the ombre hair trend with dark blonde tones. We’re not sure on this Glee hairstyle on
Lea.....whilst we love the large curls we think the shade is just a
little too light!Making
her Glee debut was a very androgynous Kate Hudson. The star was dressed
in a white and black edged suit and she looked very different to her
usual styling! She even chose to scrape her hair back into a high up
messy bun. The hair bun trend
has been HUGE in the celeb world this year, and we think this hairstyle
looked gorgeous on Kate as we are used to seeing her naturally curly
hair left loose!Following
in Kate’s red carpet footsteps was Heather Morris and her Glee
hairstyle. Heather choose a much simpler, more casual look for the red
carpet event. She wore a short turquoise dress with a peter pan collar;
the scraped back hairstyle she wore looked very girly. Differing from
Kate's messy feel, Heather's bun was pulled neat and looked very
ballerina-like.Jenna
Ushkowitz’s hair looked super sleek and glossy at the event. Her
naturally long hair had been straightened and it looked as though she
had also had a change of shade from the previous series. Adding some
very subtle highlights to her locks has given it much more dimension and
makes her hair look loads thicker ... we approve! Are
you excited for the new series? Do you like the Glee hairstyles and the
style changes of the original cast members? We can’t wait for the start
of the series here in UK........shame it’s not until January!! Share
your thoughts with us in the comments or tweet us. Other posts you may like: Nicki Minaj's Hair for American Idol - Bouffant Ponytail - Red Carpet Hairstyles

Nicki Minaj's Hair for American Idol
Nicki
Minaj’s hair for American Idol has already made a statement … and it’s
only the first stage of the auditions. Nicki Minaj has only just been
confirmed as a panelist on the US talent show, where she will appear
alongside diva Mariah Carey. Both ladies have completely different
styles, so it will be pretty interesting to watch them battle it out in
the style wars.

For
the first auditions, Nicki Minaj’s hair was worn with loads and LOADS
of voluminous curls … her hair was a melting pot of shades with bright
yellow, pink, and orange thrown into the mix! Whatever you might say
about Nicki Minaj, she certainly knows how to stand out and ensure she
gets herself noticed. Kudos to her for that!
Mariah
Carey’s hair was more glam as she wore a centre parting and her blonde
locks styled into loose waves. We’re loving the length of Mariah’s hair
at the moment and we look forward to seeing the styling throughout the
series. Mariah Carey matched her hairdo with a
black mac worn over a simple black dress … her black peep-toe heels
were absolutely gorge!
To re-create this look, use your curling tongs through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair and gently brush through the curls.

Nicki’s
outfit was somewhat toned down by her standards! The star wore baby
blue fitted cropped trousers, a multi-coloured crop top, a white blazer,
and turquoise boots with a killer heel! What a contrast to Mariah
Carey’s appearance!
We’re
quite intrigued to see Nicki Minaj’s hair for American Idol, as well as her style choices, throughout the
series, but we’re looking forward to Mariah’s looks too. What do you
guys think? Tell us below or on Facebook.

Bouffant Ponytail
So
with many of you going back to school and the Fashion Weeks beginning,
we thought we’d come up with a hair tutorial that intertwines both
aspects, so say hey to the bouffant ponytail! This
hairstyle is a perfect combination of Fashion Week hair trends and an
easy peasy hairstyle that you can quickly do before school or work for a
super chic look! Perfecto! We’re going to be styling the bouffant
ponytail low as we love it this way, but you can wear it higher if you
like. Step One:If
your hair is a little on the short/thin side be sure to fit your hair
extensions before you start this hairstyle to add extra length and
thickness. Ensure that your extensions are not fitted higher than the
top of your ear as you will need to backcomb the top section of the hair
later on! Step Two:Once
you have fitted your hair extensions, you need to backcomb the top
section of your own hair to create the bouffant to add that Fashion Week
vibe into your hairstyle! Taking your comb/backcombing brush, start at
the back of your hair near to the crown. Use your comb to section off
the top layer of hair and backcomb the section underneath; once
backcombed, spritz with hairspray and leave to dry before brushing it
down (be warned, it may look a little wild whilst you are backcombing,
but the end result will be super smooth). Backcomb the top section but
do this quite lightly as this section will be used to smooth over the
backcombed section underneath. Repeat this step on both sides ensuring
the top section of hair is backcombed lightly so the overall look of
the hairstyle is nice and smooth. Step Three:Now
that your hair is backcombed and the hairspray has set, all that is
left to do is to pull it back neatly into a low ponytail. Use your
backcombing brush to smooth out any fly-aways whilst you are pulling it
back and secure in place with a thin hair band. Step Four:You
then need to take a small strand from the underneath of your bouffant
ponytail and wrap it around the base of your ponytail so the hair band
is hidden. Secure this piece of hair again underneath the base of the
ponytail with a bobby pin. Step Five: This
next step is optional (and if you have time before school hehe) but we
just LOVE adding some soft curls throughout the ponytail to thicken it
up even more and add extra texture! Be sure to be SUPER careful when
doing this as you don’t want to mess up your bouffant so curling with curling
tongs may be easier as it won’t pull on your hair as much. :) Brush
through the curls to soften them for a boho chic look. Finally, to finish off, gently pull a few pieces of hair down to frame your face and voila! You’re ready to go...♥So
what do you think of this bouffant ponytail hairstyle ladies? We think
it’s perfect for school, date nights, or a catch up with your girl
friends! Let us know your thoughts on Twitter and if you re-create this
hairdo we’d LOVE to see some piccies!!

Celebrity Hairstyles at New York Fashion Week
We’ve
been LOVING some of the celebrity hairstyles at New York Fashion Week
almost as much as the runway shows!! Here’s the lowdown on our faves.
Victoria
Beckham’s hair has been looking gorgeous for her appearances as she’s
launched her collection at New York Fashion Week. Her hair has been worn
long with an on-trend centre parting and loose waves. We are really
liking her hair this length. ♥ Another
of the celebrity hairstyles at New York Fashion Week that caught our
eye was worn by style queen Tyra Banks. She wore her bobbed hair in a
voluminous style with curls that were full of body and lots of root
lift. Wow, her hair was big! We were loving the deep side parting and
the sweeping side fringe. It's great to see the big hair trend still going strong! We
ADORED Tamara Ecclestone’s BIG hair at NYFW. Her hair was very Kate
Middleton and we just loved the loose curls and the gorgeous volume. She
also looked stunning in her tight-fitting, high-waist burgundy skirt
which she teamed with a snake print top. Kelly
Osbourne has been sporting a variety of celebrity hairstyles at New
York Fashion Week; Kelly is still sporting the granny chic hair trend so her lilac locks were styled into an updo with
lots of root lift and a deep side parting; she teamed this look with a
bright orange jumpsuit and jacket. Kelly
Osbourne’s hair was also styled into a voluminous half-up half-down
style for Fashion Week. Her fringe was styled back over the
bouffant-like section on the top of her hair. We are loving this look on
Kelly. Less successful was Kelly’s crazy
twisted updo which she teamed with a neon outfit. We admire her for
trying a style that makes her stand out from the crowd, but we’re really
not keen on this look on the star. Sorry Kelly, it’s a thumbs down from
us. And
last, but by no means least, another of our fave celebrity hairstyles
at New York Fashion Week was worn by the lovely Whitney Port. Whitney,
who was also showcasing her own collection at Fashion Week, looked
absolutely stunning as she attended the BCBG Max Azria show last week.
Whitney Port’s hair was styled with a centre parting and her blonde
locks were worn long and loose. She wore a simple long navy silk skirt
with a black crop top and she looked fantastic. This lady can do no
wrong!!We’ve
loved keeping an eye on the runway and the celebrity hairstyles at New
York Fashion Week and we’re super excited for London Fashion Week too.
Which celeb has worn your fave look to Fashion Week so far? Tell us
below or on our Facebook page.

Celebrity Hairstyles at the Toronto Film Festival
We’ve
been LOVING some of the celebrity hairstyles at the Toronto Film
Festival this month; there have been some gorgeous updo’s and downdo’s
from the lovely ladies on the red carpet … here are a few of our faves.Amy
Adam’s hair looked incredible for the premiere of ‘The Master’ at the
Toronto Film Festival last weekend. The actress wore a black Marchesa
frock and her hair was styled into an elegant bun. Her bun was styled
low with a centre parting and it was worn sleek … we love this look on
her.

Selena Gomez
had some gorgeous celebrity hairstyles at the Toronto Film Festival too;
we loved her hair for the ‘Hotel Transylvania’ premiere. Selena Gomez’s
hair was worn shoulder length with an off-centre parting and on-trend,
voluminous curls. She teamed her style with a stunning gown from Alberta
Ferretti’s Fall 2012 collection. We approve! Selena
wore her hair similarly for the photocall of ‘Spring Breakers’ on
Friday afternoon, but completed this look with a sexy leopard print
fitted frock from Dolce & Gabbana. If you fancy creating this red
carpet look then pop in your 12-14” hair extensions to add volume for
this style. The
actress opted for an updo for the premiere of ‘Spring Breakers’ at the
Toronto Film Festival; her hair was waved and pulled back into a low
style at the nape of her neck with a strand of waved hair left loose to
frame her face. So pretty. Many
of the celebrity hairstyles at the Toronto Film Festival this year were
elegant updo’s as we spotted Emily Blunt with a sleek updo and Naomi
Watts’ hair was slicked back into a low side bun too. These are perfect
looks for the red carpet and looked gorgeous on the ladies.

Our
fave look from the Toronto Film Festival was worn by the lovely Keira
Knightley; her hair was also styled into an updo, but she had a gorgeous
side sweeping fringe which really finished her look beautifully. We’re
also a little in love with the Elie Saab Couture gown she wore. ♥So,
those were our fave celebrity hairstyles at the Toronto Film Festival,
but which was your favourite? Do you agree with our choices or did you
spot someone else? Tell us below or leave a comment on Facebook to share
your thoughts.
